The Modern fish is essentially a clone of Rob Machado’s Seaside model. I cloned this board for a customer and was quite intrigued my its approach to “fish” ing. Essentially, its got a wider and more curvy outline, which makes it more skatey feeling. That, combined with the super deep “nested” double concave (a double concave within a single concave), make the board way more responsive and snappy than you might have thought possible. Anyhow, I’m pretty much a convert and have ridden this board a ton since I shaped one for myself. It can glide along more effortlessly than a shortboard but is fully capable of doing tight radius, in-the-lip turns.
