At blackfern, each surfboard is individually shaped for the customer who orders it. Design customization comes at no extra charge. This is a necessary step to optimize the surfing experience and to ensure customer satisfaction.  

The numbers.

Since every board is in fact a custom board, the model isn't as important so much as the length is. Longer boards require more materials and time to shape, hence a price increase every 6 inches. Also, graphics, colors, and other customizations require additional time, which warrant additional cost. The pricing formula below should lead you through the numbers. I’ve done away with polyester resin entirely and have made the switch to Entropy Resin for all boards. This massive upgrade will help your board be stronger and lighter and will help the planet! Note: Entropy can be used on either polyurethane foam, giving your board the same “traditional” feel, or can be used with EPS foam, making a very lightweight craft.
