The twinny is inspired by Morning of the Earth surfboard’s Fiji and Massive models. Torren Martyn spends a lot of time riding these boards and, after watching him surf them masterfully, I decided to have a go at creating something similar. Hence, the not-so-creatively named “twinny” was born. The problem with riding twin fins on larger waves is that they can slide out due to the absence of the center fin. That’s where the channels come in- they help to lock in the tail without creating extra drag. This feature, combined with the relaxed rocker profile overall, make this board lightening fast. I personally love riding it on head to double over head waves. Mine is 8 inches longer than my go-to shortboard, which makes it a breeze to navigate in larger conditions. If you’ve struggled to get a decent wave count in larger conditions and want to gain the upper hand and have a blast while getting a completely new feel, I thoroughly recommend having one of these made!
